Where burdened souls find liberty.

Pastor's Blog

No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven. (Philippians 3:13-14, NLT)

Dearest Calvary,

It is always amazing to me how quickly we again approach the start of a new year. They seem to go by so quickly. It has been a full year of pastoral service at Calvary Baptist Church. I am so blessed to be your pastor.

As excited as I am about the year ahead, I am even more excited to continue this journey with you. I am excited at the new doors of opportunity God has placed in front of us.

I encourage each one of you to continue to press forward. Draw nearer to God and He will draw nearer to you. There is ministry yet to be birthed at Calvary. There is service yet ahead of us.

I pray daily for your strengthening. I pray daily for deeper roots and wider branches. This corner of God's vineyard will continue to bear good fruit. Press forward in your calling. God has pressed gifts into each one of us that have not been tapped to their fullest potential church, The race is not over. There is more.

I look forward to unwrapping the gifts of 2018 with each one of you.

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Dr. Charles Howell, Senior Pastor
